Mrs. Bonner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Science and Math (LaGrange College), a Master of Science K-8 Education (Walden University), and an Ed.S in Educational Leadership (University of West Georgia). She taught 8th-grade science for 6 years, 6-8th grade science connections (similar to STEM) for 6 years in conjunctionwith a 7th grade math one year during that same time frame. Additionally, she taught 6th grade math for 2 years. She was named GYSTC Science Teacher of the Year in 2009 and Heard County Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2011. In addition, she was also a middle school and high school assistant volleyball coach for three years. During her 14 year tenure, she was a Team Leader, 6-8 connections class scheduler, benchmark creator, and school improvement member and system writer. Mrs. Bonner served in an Assistant Principal capacity for the past six years, four at Heard County High School and two at Heard County Elementary School. 

 

As a leader, she has enjoyed building and developing positive relationships within the school community.  Her goal is to always support students and teachers to help them reach their greatest potential and to strengthen school culture. Additionally, she states, “It is with great enthusiasm that I join the Central Middle School community. I realize the great responsibility to inspire, empower, and influence all stakeholders to ensure CMS remains a premier school, and I’m excited to join the team. I’m looking forward to partnering with and serving the staff and community to ensure a top-quality, rigorous education that will serve our students well beyond their time with us.”  

 

Maggie has been married to her husband Roderick Bonner of Franklin, GA for six years. She shares a bonus daughter with her husband, Taniah Bonner (Newnan, GA) 23 years old. Her nephew (Robb, whom she helped raise) lives in Savannah, GA where she vacations/visits frequently during school breaks.
