I have been in education since 1999, first teaching K-2 with the A Beka curriculum for 5 years at a private Christian school in Dothan, Alabama. I transitioned to Dothan City Schools in 2004 as a Teaching Assistant in a computer lab setting at Beverlye Middle School (6 years) and Accelerated Recovery Center/ARC (4 years). During the last five years of my time there, I attended Troy University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (grades 6-12) in 2013. From 2014-2017 I taught 7th and 8th grade ELA at Dauphin Jr. High School in Enterprise, Alabama. In 2017, I moved here to Carrollton where I began my career teaching 6th grade ELA at Central Middle School, and have felt like I have been at home since the day I arrived: “Go Lions!!!” I love teaching and find joy in the many personalities from each of my students. I am truly blessed to be a part of the Central family.
My son, Heath and his wife, Francie, along with my two beautiful granddaughters, Margaret and Susan live in Alpharetta. My daughter, Rachael lives here in Carrollton. I am a member of Southern Hills at City Station, and I love to walk, read, spend time with my children and grandchildren, my sister and her family, who live in Villa Rica, and Miss Kitty, my sweet black cat that I adopted in May 2017.
